Periodontal disease is common, slow, and often quiet. It is also one of the leading causes of tooth loss in adults. We treat it with the gentlest method that will work.

Gum disease begins as inflammation along the gumline, red, tender, sometimes bleeding tissue, and can quietly progress into bone loss and the loosening of teeth. It has also been linked to a number of broader health conditions when left untreated.

Early signs include redness, swelling, or bleeding when brushing. We begin with a careful exam, specialized cleanings, and a written plan tailored to the stage of disease present.

The gold-standard, non-surgical treatment removes plaque, tartar, and bacteria from the tooth surface and the root below the gumline. It cannot reverse the disease, but it can slow or stop its progression, often for years.

For gum recession, we offer PST: a small access point made in the gum, collagen material added to support new tissue, no scalpel, no sutures. Multiple areas can be treated in a single visit, and most patients return to ordinary life the next day.

Topical antibacterial or antibiotic solutions may be used on their own or alongside other therapy. Where pockets are deep or a 'gummy' smile is a concern, a gingivectomy carefully removes excess tissue.
